The 'Arvard 'Ard Boyz will be running a Fantasy Battles tournament using the ETC system. For those of you unfamiliar with ETC, it’s a series of guidelines and restrictions for how to put your army together. This is being used INSTEAD of a comp system. The full list can be found by following the link below, but the most important aspects are:
- 2400 points (some armies get more)
- Restrictions on how many of each type of unit may be taken 
- No Special or Named Characters
- No unit may be more than 40 figures or 450 points (some armies get more)
- Restrictions on how many extra power dice or dispel dice can be generated per turn (with lots of ‘x item counts as x power or dispel dice’)

Armies must be fully painted (three colors minimum, no bare plastic, metal, resin, or primer, base at least painted).

There is a maximum score of 80 for Overall Score. The points breakdown for the score will look like this:
0-20 Battle Points per round, for a total of 0-60 BP overall
0-3 Sportsmanship points per round, for a total of 0-9 Sportsmanship Points overall. We will be policing scores of ‘0’ and if someone receives legitimate scores of 0 for all three rounds, will be out of the running for any prizes. 

There will be a voting phase at the end of the tournament for Sportsmanship and Appearance. This goes towards a Player’s Choice award and can be used to break Overall Score ties.

Since there is no Comp Score, first-round pairings will be determined randomly. For rounds 2 and 3, a Swiss System based on Battle Points will determine pairings.

We will not be using the ETC table maps. We will determine terrain on each table that cannot be moved around from round to round.

The Scenario for each round will be Pitched Battle. One round out of three will feature an alternate deployment zone to be announced by 01 August, and one round will not have General, Standard, and BSB count towards Victory Point Conditions.

You will receive an email saying that your list is approved and that your slot is guaranteed. If you pre-register after all twenty slots have been filled, you will be notified of your numbered slot on the waiting list. If it turns out you are pre-registered and you cannot make it, please please PLEASE let us know as soon as possible so we can give your slot to someone on the waiting list. If anyone is bumped from waiting list to registration list, we will notify everyone on the waiting list of their new slot.
